Probably the best book ever published on early Italian edged weapons, this long out-of-print work by Lionello Boccia and Eduardo Coelho is the gold standard for reference works on early edged weapons. Hard cover, measuring 12 5/8" by 10 5/8" and nearly 2" thick, 462 pages, published in 1975; featuring hundreds of black and white and color photographs of swords, daggers, and polearms from the 12th Century to the 18th Century. Includes section with detailed description and makerís marks for each photograph. Nearly 800 pieces are photographed and described, including provenance. Italian text. Two copies available: Pristine copy with dust jacket and cardboard sleeve, price $450. Another, showing minor wear; dust jacket and sleeve with taped repairs, but plates are all excellent, price $375. This scarce work is hard to find and often commands prices in excess of $800.
