German Left-hand Dagger, ca. 1600
Broad down-turned hexagonal-section quillons with expanded finials; single side ring joined to the quillon block. Compressed pommel with four fluted lobes and small button. Spiral grip wrapped with twisted iron wire and turks heads, likely original. Tapering 13 ½" double-edged blade of hexagonal-section with half length single fuller. Overall length 18". Very good condition with dark brown patina to hilt; all tight and solid. A very similar dagger recently sold at Christies in London for $6144 with buyer's premium.
