Italian Walnut and Leather Arm Chair, Medici 17th C
Walnut frame of large proportions, with carved stringer, turned arm supports, and fluted gilt finials on the seat back. Original leather upholstered seat, banding, and seat back. The back and banding with gilt decoration and large dome-head brass nails, the back bearing the gilt crest of the Medici Family. Overall height 44", width 23 ½", depth 23 ½". Wood generally very good with only minor marks from age and use. Leather seat worn from use; the back and banding with cracks and flaking and a couple tears to the banding. Provenance: Higgins Armory Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts. Price includes insured crated shipping to the contiguous 48 states and Canada (customs fees extra to Canada).
