Nazi 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dress Dagger by Adolf Braun
Adolf Braun of Berlin was a retailer of military goods before and during WWII. The parts of this dagger were made by Alcoso, but the blade is stamped "ADOLF BRAUN/BERLIN". It is one of the rarer marks to be found on this model dagger. Cast brass crossguard with fluted square quillon ends, the center block depicting fouled anchor on the obverse and diamond with floral border and blade release button on reverse. Brass pommel in the shape of an eagle clutching a wreath with swastika in its talons. Orange culluloid grip (small chip at base) wrapped with twisted brass wire. Plain diamond-section blade with double fullers (as were all Braun-marked examples), with needle point and long flat ricasso with maker mark on reverse. The brass scabbard is the typical Alcoso type with lightning bolts and twin carrying rings with bands of raised oak leaves. Overall very good plus condition with clean bright blade. A rarely seen dagger with these markings.
