Old Copy of an Early Medieval Spangenhelm Helmet
Well-made of copper alloy and retaining a partial green patina, this copy would appear original to all but the most knowledgeable collectors. Constructed of four segmented bands with riveted plates filling in between. Hinged cheek pieces with riveted plates on the inside. Retains corroded iron rings at the back for attachment of chain mail neck guard. One plate with a 1" crack and small hole, adding to the look of authenticity. Excellent starter piece for collectors who canít afford the high price of an original.
