German Burgonet, ca. 1600

Description

Featuring two-piece skull with a raised embossed curved band on each side; left side base
with double plume holder. Hinged cheek pieces with roped base (the right with some loss
at the front bottom corner), having been secured in place long ago with rivets and later
brass pins. Riveted visor with roped edge; single neck lame with roped base (some loss to
bottom edge and attached with later brass pins. Matching dark patina with a few shallow
dents to the skull.
