German M38 Single Decal Luftwaffe Paratrooper Helmet, with Liner and Cover

Description

Early war dark apple green shell, stamped on the inside with ET71 ( Eisenhutten Thale,
size 71 cm) and batch number “3807″. Single luftwaffe eagle decal; yellowed and about
85% intact. Steel M38 liner bolts (paint worn). Correct leather liner with two rectangular
bordered ink-stamped markings, partially illegible, but one shows the manufacturer
“-ersteller: F.W. Muller.jr.” on the second line and the other “Stahlhaube Gr 71″ (very faint)
on the second line. Lining rubber is intact. Black leather straps with softer buff leather
lining showing wear with most of the stitching connecting the two layers separated. Buckles
and snaps are intact but show age and wear with some of the paint chipped. Comes with
its solid green cloth combat cover (lightly soiled) with straps for attachment of natural
camouflage, attached by sewn black aluminum(?) hooks; no markings visible. Weight of
helmet, liner, and chin straps 1161 grams (not including the cover). Very good complete
condition, the shell showing scuffs and some rust marking.
