Description
Thigh-length shirt with forearm-length sleeves, comprising a mix of both solid and riveted
rings of varying sizes, thicker and doubling up at the neck and breast. Front-opening;
featuring four solid breast plates with four riveted bars on each side of arrow and floret
shape with mounting buckles for laces (one buckle missing). Two narrower plates
beneath each armpit. The back features three rows of smaller rectangular plates; the

and missing rings, old repairs, and breaks to some of the smaller plates. This shirt likely a
part of a large group of similar shirts that were captured by Anup Singh, Maharajah of
Bikaner after the siege of the Adoni Fortress in 1689.
